VIA UC - Horsens (Denmark) - January 2009
I was involved into interdisciplinary project in VIA UC in DK concerning design of the access road and parking area for exclusive building "WAVE" in Vejle, DK. After collection of necessary data, visiting the ongoing building site, various sketches and ideas have been presented to the client (project' supervisor engineer of COWI Vibeke Bjerregaard Poulsen). The design idea of the parking lots was to indicate the wave' shape of the building, so that tenants will see some kind of "shadow" of the building. The projects included following items:
-
design of the parking (cars, bikes)
-
design of the dead end access road with the turning area which can be used by the tracks as well
-
road alignments (vertical and horizontal)
-
turning to the underground parking from access road
-
design of the junction, connecting new access road and traffic road next to the building
-
design of the left turning lane on a junction
-
signs location
-
space requirements' fulfillment (NovaPoint software)
-
the components structure of all the lanes in both roads in respect to applied traffic amount (bicycle lane, pedestrian lane, traffic lane, parking lots, turning area)
-
materials selection for all the lanes, its analysis (environmental and aesthetic issues)
-
road safety
-
measures for the disable people
-
geotechnical solutions
-
soil balance
-
cost calculations
-
time schedule for the project itself
-
