<< go back to projectsBasic planning and design of new airport in Aarhus, DK
VIA UC - Horsens (Denmark) - April 2009
The development of the project regarding new Airport in Aarhus with supervisor Hans R. Gronne (engineer of COWI) has brought following issues to be studied out:
-
the investigations about the area, finding out the certain location of future airport, analysis concerning Aarhus existing airport (why the existing one can not be renovated instead of creating a new one)
-
study about decided location (weather, wind, need of population, transportation network, etc)
-
possible impacts analysis (social, environmental) and economical issues
-
as a final stage the basic design of the airport had to be created (choice of the largest plane, pavement choice and its slopes, length of runway, taxiways, apron areas, limitation areas, markings for runways, taxiways and apron area). International standards and Recommended practices ICAO (Annex 14, Airport planning manual, airport services manual and Aerodrome design manual) have been used as a key-literature to generate concerned project.
All the plans, sections were created by usage of AutoCad software.
